Reflecting on My Academic Journey

As I work on the final draft of an assignment at Walden University, I find myself in the last week of the course “Living and Learning in a Technological World.” This moment also marks my final attempt to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a goal I have pursued for over three decades. Despite the challenges of raising a family, I have decided to dedicate myself fully to achieving this lifelong aspiration.

I have explored the valuable resources provided by Walden University and I am determined to make the most of their support services. The “Iguide Portal” stands out among these resources, offering an extensive range of tools such as an Academic Calendar, Appointment Scheduling System, Course Grading, FAQs, a Glossary of Terms, Student Handbooks, and more. These tools, along with the comprehensive support services offered by Walden, play a crucial role in my journey towards earning my Bachelor’s degree. I am fully committed to immersing myself in the program, which has provided everything I need to succeed in this transformative academic process.

Through my academic assessments, I have gained insight into my strengths and areas for improvement, such as mathematical assessments and sentence structures. Identifying these weaknesses allows me to focus on enhancing those skills, achieving their full potential, and creating a more balanced academic profile. Moreover, this course has introduced me to valuable thought processes and self-assessment techniques that I was previously unaware of. This newfound understanding empowers me to approach learning and personal and business endeavors with greater insight and adaptability.

Looking ahead, I plan to apply the skills I have learned in this course to future classes and various aspects of my personal life. The topic of technology and its diverse uses, explored extensively in this course, will undoubtedly enhance my learning approach. While acknowledging the pros and cons of technology, such as the dangers of distracted driving, I am committed to being prepared for any academic challenges that may arise. Learning and progress involve developing strategies to overcome obstacles and continually refining one’s skills through trial and error.

Becoming part of the Walden community is a goal I aim to achieve by actively engaging with the university’s support services, staying in contact with my academic advisor, instructor, and classmates. I plan to contribute to positive change by involving myself in Walden University organizations and connecting with students from diverse backgrounds. In conclusion, my aspiration is to serve others and experience the joy of giving. I envision myself becoming a mentor to fellow students, sowing the seeds of prosperity and success just as others have done for me. As the saying goes, “each one, teach one.” I am excited about the possibilities ahead and how Walden University has equipped me with the tools and support to succeed in my academic journey.
