Reason for selection and support provided: Judith has been a friend and colleague since our undergraduate program. She relocated to the U.S.A a few years before me and has been a valuable guide in my nursing career. She introduced me to different nursing specialties, helped me set long-term and short-term goals, and shared her experiences during her MSN-FNP program. Judith’s continuous support, encouragement, and insights make her a trusted friend and professional mentor.
Reason for selection and support provided: Dorothy is a social media activist advocating for the health and wellness of marginalized populations. Her personal story of overcoming obstacles inspired me to pursue further education without delay. Dorothy’s dedication to continuous learning and her focus on drug addiction and opioid epidemic motivated me to explore the entrepreneurial aspects of psychiatric and mental health specialties. I have accompanied her on medical missions, learning valuable lessons about advanced practice nursing and solidifying my choice to join Walden University.

Reason for selection and support provided: Ms. Kathi is a mentor and educator specializing in psychiatric and mental health nursing. She has been instrumental in enhancing my understanding of mental health from an academic perspective. Through one-on-one discussions, she has supported my areas of interest and helped me prioritize relevant courses. I look forward to continuing my learning journey with her guidance as I pursue my goals as a nurse practitioner.
Reason for selection and support provided: Moses, my husband and academic advisor, encouraged me to further my nursing studies. With his imminent completion of the MSN program at Walden University, I did not want to be left behind. Moses has been a pillar of support in selecting the right specialty and school that aligns with our lifestyle. Together, we work as a team, allocating time for studies and family. Moses will continue to be an invaluable asset as we navigate our graduate studies and beyond.
