Self-Care Plan

According to SAMSHA (2021), “compassion fatigue is a combination of collapse and secondary traumatic stress” (para. 3). When working as a professional that helps guests, similar to counselors, nurses, croakers, or paramedics without proper tone- care, the professional can succumb to collapse, secondary traumatic stress, or compassion fatigue. Professionals are affected by traumatic events in their guests’ lives and are ignorant of the symptoms unless they’ve been duly trained. “The Professional Quality of Life (PROQOL) is intended for any coadjutor- health care professional, social service workers, preceptors, attorneys, exigency response, etc.” PROQOL, 2022, para. 1).

The PROQOL point can be used for tone-care help as well as taking a questionnaire to measure the professional’s compassion satisfaction, collapse, and secondary traumatic stress. After taking this questionnaire, the results show that the compassion satisfaction score is 45, the collapse score is 12, and secondary traumatic stress is 20. The compassion satisfaction score of 45 falls into the high range for compassion satisfaction. The collapse score of 12 is in the low range of collapse. The secondary traumatic stress score of 20 also falls into the low range for secondary traumatic stress complaints. Presently working as a Peer Support Specialist with binary-diagnosed guests with internal health and substance use diseases made me veritably curious as to how I would score.

Although the eventuality for me to be at threat of collapse, secondary traumatic stress, or compassion fatigue, there’s a tone-care plan that I can use. My tone-care plan includes daily healthy living chops, spiritual practices, and how to handle compassion fatigue or collapse to maintain emotional balance within my life so that I can watch for others. Diurnal healthy living chops that I’ll exercise every day to maintain an emotional balance in my life will include waking up with gratefulness and going to bed with gratefulness. Waking up in the morning thankful that my eyes opened and that I can get up, get ready for work, and love the job that I have.

Before bed at night, I use gratefulness to punctuate the stylish corridor of the day; indeed, if commodity bad happened that day, there were still positive effects that happened. When we use gratefulness in the morning and at night before bed, it sends out positive studies to start the day and end the day. However, I turn on contemplation music If I’m feeling overwhelmed at work, which eases anxiety and calms the air around me. Another healthy diurnal living skill is to get out in nature by taking a walk or just standing outdoors and paying attention to what surrounds me. Also, breathing exercises and grounding ways are helpful during moments of being overwhelmed or just anxious.

I’ll be integrating exercise three times a week as well. Healthy diurnal living chops are important for professionals that help others as part of a tone-care plan. Spiritual practices are an important part of a tone-care plan. Besides having gratefulness in the morning and at night before bed, this is also a time to supplicate and have a discussion with Jesus and keep a relationship with him. My faith is in my Savior Jesus Christ because he pulled me out of the miry complexion and put my bases on the gemstone. When I asked for the remission of my sins, he changed me from the inside out. I was an alcoholic, medicine-addicted, dirty wrongdoer, and his blood on cal-vary washed my sins down.

Going to church daily and having a connection with other Christians is also a part of my tone-care plan. Doing daily devotionals in the morning, reading my Bible, and harkening to Christian music stations in the auto are all spiritual practices that I do daily. Staying connected to God the Father through his Son Jesus Christ is the most important relationship that I’ve had and is the most important in my tone-care plan. Handling compassion fatigue and collapse is an important part of a tone-care plan. According to SAMHSA (2021), “collapse includes three corridor passions of prostration, negative stations at work, and a sense of not doing well or being effective in your work” (para. 2).

Indeed, however, if a tone-care plan has been maintained, professionals can still succumb to collapse and compassion fatigue. Having the right tools and being suitable to see the symptoms of collapse will help professionals know when they need help. If the professional is in collapse or compassion fatigue, also, they’re emotionally unapproachable to their guests, and this isn’t good for the customer at all. SAMHSA (2021) states that “if the symptoms last longer than two weeks or it’s affecting your quality of life, you should seek professional help” (para. 2). Once I fete that I may be going through collapse or compassion fatigue, I would speak with my administrator about my situation and use the Hand backing Program( EAP) and take time off work if demanded.

To watch for others, I must use a tone-care plan that includes daily healthy living chops, spiritual practices, and how to handle compassion fatigue or collapse to maintain emotional balance. Healthy diurnal living chops that I’ll use are gratefulness, contemplation music, nature walks, and exercise. Spiritual practices correspond to gratefulness, prayer, deification music, church involvement, and my relationship with Jesus. Compassion fatigue and collapse are possible indeed though a tone care plan has been followed, but I can speak to my administrator, use the EAP, and take time off work if demanded. I can also use the PROQOL point for tone-care tips as well as measure my compassion satisfaction, collapse, and secondary traumatic stress to maintain emotional balance and be tone- apprehensive of my emotional status.
