The significance of relating trauma and/ or PTSD in an adolescent floundering with an addicting and substance use complaint will be examined. Stylish practices for working with adolescents with addiction and substance use diseases will be reviewed. An introductory psychosocial assessment of Mindy followed by implicit treatment pretensions for Mindy will be assessed. An introductory psychosocial assessment is an important step in creating a treatment plan for a customer.

Mindy may be released back to her family of origin, who lives hard if she doesn’t violate her exploration in the coming six months. Mindy has been arrested for possession of substances in history. Her family history involves burglary and trafficking medicines. Her father has been in captivity for the once six times, and Mindy admits to missing him.

Mindy is in denial that what her father did was wrong; she states that she’s only angry with him for getting caught. Mindy has been using medicines since she was twelve, being introduced to them by an Uncle on her father’s side. She has been having Jones for heroin, although she states she has been clean for 12 months. Her mama has been sober eight times and is a nanny. Mindy denies that she has suffered any trauma, although she states that her 21-time-old kinsman has “wisecracked around Grand Canyon University, 2022). Mindy has experienced a behavioral assessment while in juvenile detention. While there, she needed to attend daily remedy sessions, but Mindy countries that the counselor just wanted her to talk and just giggled at her( Grand Canyon University).
Implicit Treatment Pretensions For Mindy
Implicit treatment pretensions for Mindy should concentrate on her substance use, wrathfulness, denial, and sexual abuse. Mindy also had a negative experience with her counselor in the detention center, so she may have some resistance to treatment. Mindy’s mama seems to be stable, sober, and employed. Her family also visits her every week and lives nearby (Grand Canyon University). If Mindy doesn’t violate her parole in the coming six months, she’ll be released back home. The main focus also should be helping Mindy through the coming six months to stay sober so that she does not violate her exploration. Once home, she should be reassessed for treatment pretensions. With her family’s support and comfort, Mindy has a good chance of turning her life around.
Summary
Making a treatment plan for a customer involves doing an abecedarian psychosocial assessment. In order to identify trauma in adolescent cases with dependence and substance use diseases, assessment is a pivotal step. It’s pivotal to spot trauma and/ or PTSD in an adolescent who is battling a dependence or substance use complaint.
